This is NOT my before and after although I sure do wish it was. Honestly, I don’t plan on doing any more furniture for a while. I have to admit… I have no time and no place to redo. I’ll get around to it someday… promise. Anyways, I thought I would share this adorable cabinet from “The Painted Hive”. Her work is amazing. I personally think anything painted over black is extremely classy!
BEFORE:

You can see how she did this dresser step by step on her website. Her DIY project seems simple…

AFTER:

These knobs are so great! You can do so much with a sea theme such as this one. There is more work on her blog check it out!

2. Just look at the sweet photos it takes!!!

Washington D.C. was a blast… I had a lot of fun and I enjoyed sight-seeing! That place has so much history. Spending time with family was of course the best part of the trip, I don’t get to see them much! Now I am just catching up with work and my social life… hence why I have been a pretty dormant blogger (I’ll be back though). Here are a few pictures that I took:

Archives of the USA (This building held the Declaration of Independence along with the Bill of Rights)

Smithsonian Institution — The Castle

Washington Monument

Lincoln Memorial (Jeeesh this guy was big!)

And I saved my favorite for last. The Capitol. Look at the inside… this place was beautiful!

Yesterday, I watched Kyle leave for Afghanistan. He will be there for a short deployment of two months, nonetheless I will miss him each day he’s gone. I’m so proud of him and all his accomplishments. I am so blessed to have him, so blessed. He plays many roles in his life and he handles them so well. I get to experience such a great boyfriend who genuine loves and cares for me, someone who is excited to graduate with his social work degree and influence many lives, he loves the Lord and always pushes him first in our relationship, he loves his family beyond words and is as loyal as a friend could ever ask for… all while serving our country.

I look forward to his return… we both have many things to look forward to. September (when he returns) will be a special month for us. We start our last year of school and will get to walk the graduation stage together. That month will also be our three-year anniversary of dating, something that we are both very happy to share! As I think about this upcoming Independence Holiday I realize the freedom that we have and watching him leave I understand that I’m not the only person that has ever had to say goodbye to their loved one. With this I hope you all have a great fourth of July… What are your plans? and I’d love to hear your thoughts!
HAVE A GREAT 4TH OF JULY!!

I am headed out to Washington D.C. on Monday (July 5th) for a good ol family vacation. I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am. My family and I don’t usually travel a lot so this is a first time visit for all of us. I can guarantee we are going to look like 100% tourists, but that is A-Okay. However, for a family that has never been to D.C. we already have a very packed and detailed itinerary! I have been checking the weather there and its up in the 95′s, I’m not looking forward to that! Here are just a few of the items that I’m bringing on my trip… I just bought that canvas bag from Gap this past week and I love it!

What a great time to be in Washington… right after Independence Day! I will be posting pictures soon!!! Those who have been to D.C., any tips or places to visit?? What are you plans for Independence Day?
